Chapter 3: Alexis Shares Her News With Sonny

Alexis entered the penthouse with Joseph. She takes a look around and
comes to the conclusion that Sonny isn't home yet.

A:"Thanks, Joseph. You can go now. I'm going to lie down. I'm pretty
beat."
J:"Mr Corinthos gave me strict instructions to watch over you. So I will
be staying. I will try to keep out the way."
Alexis shrugs. "I wish Sonny would realize that I can take care of
myself. I didn't grow up in my family without learning survival skills.
I know, I know. You're just following orders. I'll see you later."
Alexis goes to the bedroom to lie down. She is exhausted but very
happy. She smiles as she remembers when she first met Sonny....

Alexis is walking by the hospital lounge when she sees Officer Taggert
talking with another man. She notices the hostile body language
emanating from both of them and immediately concludes that that it is
more of an interrogation than a conversation. She steps closer so she
can hear the conversation.

T: "Tell me, Corinthos. Do you get your jollies making money off of
getting kids hooked on drugs? I bet you do. When I take you down....

S:"You know Officer, I'm getting tired of your threats. Do you have a
specific question for me? If not, I'm running late for my followup
appointment with Dr Quartermaine." Sonny attempts to leave but Taggert
grabs ahold of his arm.

T:"I'm not done with you Corinthos...."
Alexis jumps into the conversation. "Excuse me. Mr Corinthos, Officer
Taggert. Mr Corinthos, can you spare a dollar?"
Sonny whips out a dollar bill and hands it to her. "Sure."
Alexis takes the dollar bill. "Thank you Mr Corinthos. Officer Taggert,
unless you have cause to arrest my client. I suggest you take your hands
off him. If you don't, I'll slap a harassment suit on you so fast, you
won't know what hit you."
Taggert looks at her in disbelief. "What? You aren't his attorney..."

Sonny stands back and watches her in admiration.
Alexis waves the dollar bill. "He just hired me. Now back off before you
put your job in jeopardy. I know Commissioner Scorpio would be very
unhappy if you caused the Police Department to lose valuable taxpayer
money."
Taggert gives up the fight. "Fine. Mr Corinthos, I'm sure we will get to
chat some other time."
Sonny smiles triumphantly. "Not without my lawyer present we won't."
Taggert stalks off.
Sonny looks at Alexis Davis with appreciation. "Thank you Ms...?"
Alexis extends her hand to shake his. "Alexis Davis. "

Sonny looks surprised. "As in Stefan Cassadine's cousin?"

Alexis. "Yes, and you are Luke Spencer's friend and business associate.
I hope this doesn't prevent us from being civil to one another."

"I don't think there will be a problem being civil, Ms Davis." Sonny
takes her outstretched hand and shakes it warmly. Alexis looks in his
eyes, and sees a challenge in them. She sees arrogance mixed with
sadness. He was definitely intriguing.

"It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr Corinthos. I hope you didn't
mind my interference. "

Sonny smiles warmly. "Not at all. Seeing Taggert taken down a few
notches was pure pleasure. He has been harassing me for weeks." She
feels his close scrutiny, but she can tell he likes what he sees.

A:"Well, I won't keep you, Mr Corinthos..."

S:"Please call me Sonny. And I'd like to buy you a cup of coffee in the
cafeteria if you have the time."

A: "Your Dr's appointment?"

Sonny smiles. "Not for another hour. I'd like to show my appreciation
to you for rescuing me."

A: "Sure. I'd like that. I don't have to leave for another hour myself."

They chat as they walk to the cafeteria......

Back to the present..

Alexis smiles contentedly as she drifts off to sleep.

A short while later, Alexis awakens to find Sonny lying next to her,
caressing her cheek. She turns sleepily and kisses him on the mouth.
A: "Hello, husband. I missed you today."

Sonny returns her kiss as he pulls her close. " I like coming home to
you in bed. Did you really miss me, darling? You are usually too busy
with clients to miss me. Did your clients cancel?"

A: "No I canceled my clients." She snuggles closer as he deepens the
kiss. She responds passionately, it felt so good to be in his arms.
They kiss for a long time. He breaks the kiss to look at her. "Have I
told you lately that I love you?"
Alexis: "I think you told me this morning before I left. But that was a
long time ago."

S: "I love you, Alex"

Alexis corrects him. "Alexis. And I love you too, Sonny." Alexis tries
to pull him back into a kiss but he stops her.

S: "Wait a minute, what's this about you canceling clients? You never
cancel clients. Something wrong baby?

A:"No. But I went to see the doctor today."
Sonny looks concerned. "You went to see the doctor? And nothing's wrong?
I don't understand."

Alexis beams back at him. "I found out I'm pregnant Sonny. I'm two
months along. You are going to be a Daddy."

Sonny is speechless. "What did you say? Did you say you're pregnant?"
A: "Yes, I'm pregnant, Sonny. Tell me you're happy!"

Sonny hugs her tightly as he begins to cry. "A baby? In seven months?
Yes?!"

Alexis wipes his tears away:"Yes Sonny. I know this was sooner than we
planned..."

Sonny:"No, it's perfect, baby. After Lily...."'

A: "I know, honey. But this time is different."

S: "I'll make sure it's different. I never thought I could be this
happy! Thank you for blessing my life, Alexis."

Sonny pulls her close again, kissing her and caressing her body gently
but passionately. Alexis groans in pleasure as she responds to his
lovemaking. They make passionate love.
