GH2017.23 Troublemakers
Spoon Island: A launch arrives with Brooke aboard. She is greeted by
security who announce her to the house before allowing her to go up to
Wyndemere.. She knocks on the door and it is answered by Stone Corinthos.
Brooke: Hi! I was expecting another guard... maybe a strip search?
Stone: ( Grinning) Well don't let me stop you if you feel compelled.
Brooke: You have got to be Stone! I think you have been hanging around my
cousin Jason too much you both have that twisted sense of humor.
Stone: (feigning an arrow to the heart) Not fair you started it!
Stefan: Actually I would have to agree with Brooke. Stone aren't you
suppose to be working on your studies?
Stone: Yes Sir. I was just finishing a break.
Brooke: I'll be around for awhile I'm sure we will get to talk more. (She
follows Stefan in to the study closing the doors behind her) He seems to
bearing up to captivity well.
Stefan: Better than his mother I am afraid . She is about to bake him a
cake with a file in it. ( he looks at Brooke questioningly as if wondering
if he correctly used the maxim)
Brooke: (nodding) If she is anything like my mother she is probably
calling daily. Mum has to know what and how her chicks are doing at all times.
Stefan: I enjoyed your mother I found her5 to be somewhat ...abrasive but
with a joy for life that is unusual.
Brooke: You are kidding; you met my mom?
Stefan: The same night as your father and I talked. I understand if you
missed it. You were otherwise occupied.
Brooke: (teasing) You are such a troublemaker! Why does your family let
you get away with it?
Stefan: Habit. ( Brooke curls up on the couch spreading her full skirt
around her and looking at the man standing behind the easel who is
preparing his palette before beginning the session.) My nephew didn't come
home last night.
Brooke: Really? He was at the apartment waiting for Lu when I went to bed.
They evidently had things to discuss.
Stefan: Yes, this unfortunate business.
Brooke: Lu filled me in this morning; I was feeling clueless. Jason has
not told me a thing; I should be furious. Lu suggested that I tell Jason
how Stone is doing.
Stefan : they actually speak quite frequently. Normally Stone and the
children. Stone evidently told them that he was being grounded for the
fight but that he still had telephone privileges.
Brooke: Clever. From everything I have heard about Anna she would know
what grounded was.
Stefan: An adorable child...she reminds me of Leslie Lu. She and her
friend Georgie had the run of the house as children. I do not know how many
times I had to pull one or the other out of suits of armor; or rap on walls
to find out which secret passage they were in.
Brooke: It sounds idyllic.
Stefan : True, looking back, but at the time I was happy to have Laura and
Nikolas's support.
Brooke : Well you didn't do too badly. I am living with both of them and
they seem nice girls.
Stefan: why do I have the feeling you would say that even if they were up
to mischief? ( Brooke smiles) Hold that for a second ( he focus's on the
painting in progress and silence falls over the room)
The hospital...Jerry's room. Georgie has already been through once but it
was on rounds and with others. Never one for four walls, Jerry is rapidly
climbing them. His reputation and foul temper are the talk of the nurses
station. When his call light goes on, the nurses gathered for charting
groan and one even suggests drawing straws.
Georgie: I'll go. How bad can it be?
Nurse: Don't even tempt the fates. The doctor is hopefully going to
discharge him after he sees him. He can do therapy on outpatient basis.
Georgie: Is that a bone I can throw him if he starts chewing on me?
Nurse: Not until the Doctor sees him, sorry. We'll send out a rescue
party if you aren't back in 10. ( Georgie walks down the corridor to
Jerry's room she can hear him growling through the closed door and grins
noting that he even growls with an Australian accent)
Georgie: ( in an overly perky voice guaranteed to grate) Well how are we today?
Jerry: I don't know how WE are doing but I am about ready to bust out of
this place... Why in the hell you talked me into coming here to start is a
mystery to me. It is not like I haven't been shot before. Dammit Georgie,
get me the hell out of here.
Georgie: ( recognizing the entrenched signs of cabin fever her voice now
calm and low- soothing ) Soon . Soon . I made a call on my break. There
is a furnished apartment available in my building. One of those
convenience things they have for business men. As soon as the doctor clears
you I'll take you to the park where you can stand in the great outdoors
until your extremities start to freeze. And then I'll take you to the
Outback for dinner and we'll have artery clogging burgers and cheese fries
and I'll introduce real casual -like to Mac Scorpio, my step father. He is
close to Jason Morgan seeing how his niece is married to him . And then
I'll disappear for awhile and you will bond and you can start pumping him
for information on ELQ shipping and maybe even an introduction to the big
man himself. You need to start thinking of your cover. I can't be hanging
around with a WSB agent. ( fussing all the while with Jerry's pillows and
straightening covers, taking his pulse, filling his water pitcher and
putting it within reach of his good hand)
Jerry: Quit your fussing, Georgie. I am over my funk. And actually I know
Mac from before you were born. We had a falling out but there should be no
problem now.
Georgie: Is there anyone you do not know? Stefan Cassadine, Mac you might
as well live in this town.
Jerry: (growling again) Don't know that damn Morgan and don't know what
burr is under his saddle.
Georgie: ( checking her watch casually) I have the answer for that. I did
some research of the old business pages. It dates back about 15 years.
Evidently after a close friend of Jason who was also a board member was
killed... Jasper Jacks tried to take over the company. He had tried before
and failed. (Jerry winces) Anyway Ned Ashton, the guy that had stopped him
before, had resigned a few years before. The founder was in ill health and
a board member had just been killed. Needless to say it was chaotic, well
more than normal. The current CEO Justus Ward and Jason Morgan had to fight
off the takeover. It evidently was really ugly and more bloody than normal
. There were big write up's about it. The business schools grabbed hold of
it and started using it as a case study of how to fight off a corporate
raider. Is this Jasper related to you?
Jerry: Yeah. It is my brother Jax that I was telling you about back in Idaho.
Georgie: Then you better hope that you can sweet talk Mac cause if I have
to talk to Jason my cover is blown. You have been such a grump that the
other nurses promised a rescue party if I wasn't back by now. ( reaching up
and gently tugging on his beard) Be good or I'll come back with my straight
razor and clean this up for you.
Jerry: straight razor?
Georgie: I find I have less trouble with men grabbing my posterior if they
know I will have a straight razor on them later.
Jerry: You are evil. I love it. You'll have your chance, girl but not til
it either thaws or we get our vacation.
Georgie: ( walking to the door) Promises, promises ( Jerry laughs loud
enough to be heard by the nurse coming down the hall)
Nurse: What did you do?
Georgie: Nothing. I've just always had a fondness for bears.
Around the world in a remote mountain village Lucky Spencer is climbing out
of a jeep and stretching the stressed muscles that are still tight from what
appeared to be near death on the washed out roads coming up the mountain.
He sees a church with a red cross by the door and a familiar figure leaning
against the outside of the building looking off into the distance.
Lucky: (Calling out) Hey I am here to see the only Lady Doctors left in
the world that do house calls!
Em: Lucky! ( Running to him and throwing herself in his arms. He swings
her around before placing her back to earth) How are you? Where did you
come from? What are you doing here? Is everything okay?
Lucky: Other than the trip taking twice as long as I thought it would and a
sore rump I am fine. I need to talk to Robin.
Em: she is in the church we are using it for a clinic. I am getting a bad
feeling about you being here. What is going on ? ( he puts an arm around
Em as he walks to the church)
Lucky: Have either of you been in contact with home?
Em: No, we got word out when we were delayed but the reception here is
lousy. We have to go to the top of the mountain to get a clear signal. How
bad is it? Did someone die?
Lucky: No babe that is the one blessing. Actually having Robin here may
have prevented a death.
Em: you are being cryptic.
Lucky: I really only want to tell this once. But you need to start
thinking how soon you can have the gear packed. Robin is going to want to
leave as soon as she gets the news.
Em: Our last clinic is scheduled for this afternoon. Earliest we could
feasible be packed and ready to go is tomorrow and that is going to be tight.
Lucky: Can you handle the afternoon clinic solo? Robin is going up the
mountain to make a phone call.
Em: ( a ball growing in the pit of her stomach) I'll do everything I can
you know that.
Lucky : ( kissing her on the top of the head) You are a trooper. I hope
your husband appreciates you. 'Cause if he doesn't I'll clue him in.
Em: And stir up a hornet's nest, no thanks you and I have been there and
done that.
Robin: Lucky ( big smile) Did you just happen to be in the neighborhood?
Lucky: Wish it were so but you too old married ladies didn't check in often
enough and the hubbies got concerned. ( his voice growing serious) Is
there a private place we could talk.
Robin: ( leading him to a back store room) Something is wrong at home...Is
it Jason did something happen to him...or the kids. What is going on?
Lucky: Yeah, why don't you have a seat. Everyone is alive; no one is in
the hospital. ( Robin exhales audibly) Anna told Stone that one of her
teachers had been molesting her. ( Robin gasps but Lucky continues wanting
to get it all out) Stone attacked the teacher and got thrown in jail. He
is out now. Basically it has become a race between who kills this guy
before he gets locked up. Anna has been talking to Gina and had a checkup
at GH. She seems to be angrier about Stone not being able to come see her
than about the teacher. The kids are the only things stopping Jason from
taking care of the situation personally but I don't even want to know what
he has in the works for the guy.
Robin: My poor baby. I need to talk to Jason. I need to get home. Oh my
poor Anna.
Lucky : ( breaking into a tearful refrain) I don't think anyone else is
going to be coming up or going down that road for awhile. Lets go to the
top of the mountain and make some calls: to Jason and to get a helicopter up
here. Emily said that she would handle the clinic this afternoon and start
getting things packed up. If we can get the 'copter we should be out of
here in the morning.
Robin: (in a daze) the clinic?
Lucky: I know this is the worst, but Robin, hold it together until we get
in the plane back to the states and then you can lose it all the way to N.Y.
okay? we need to keep moving if we are going to get out of here.
Robin: ( straightening and wiping her face with the back of her hands) The
road to the top of the mountain is clear. Where is your jeep?
