Chapter 84 & 85

Chapter 84 Tyler Edward

Karen looks up at Katherine and smiles professionally. "So far so good.
Katherine, you've only dilated four centimeters, so you need to relax
and conserve your strength. We have a ways to go."

"If you knew about my involvement with Katherine, why didn't you speak
up before now?" Scott glares at Nikolas as he holds Katherine's left
hand.

"Right, and give this money-hungry, scheming vixen a chance to abscond
with my son? I was not about to risk losing Tyler-- if he is mine."
Holding on to Katherine's right hand, Nikolas fights to check his
temper.

"Hellllloooo, I'm the one having a baby here. Ohhhh, check it again,
Karen. I have to be further than four centimeters." Katherine squeals as
the pains increase.

"Sorry Katherine, It's four centimeters. Sometimes first births take
longer than others." Karen glares at her father. "Do you think it would
be possible for you and Nikolas to table the debate on who's the bigger
jackass until AFTER the baby is born?"

"Excuse me? I don't care for your tone, Karen. You don't have all the
details regarding this situation." Scotty scowls as Katherine's nails
dig into his skin. "Knock it off, Kathy; it's out in the open, I'm not
going to lie to my daughter."

"Oh PLEASE-- save it, Dad, you've been lying for months and if I don't
have the details, it's because you didn't tell me! Did you EVER stop to
consider what this could do to Gina? To Serena? Hell-- to me? You have
to be the most selfish man I've ever met."

Nikolas chuckles at Scott. "Looks like your own daughter wants nothing
to do with you; I'm sure you can imagine what Gina thinks of you now."

"Nikolas, I can explain all of this..." Katherine pleads with him as the
door opens and Stefan pops his head in, grinning broadly.

"Lucy has just given birth to beautiful baby girls. Mother and babies
are doing fine."

Karen lets out a cheer. "That's great! Send her my love."

"Cassadine, give Lucy and Kevin my congratulations." Scotty shakes his
head as he smiles. "Twin girls, Way to go Luce."

"Ohh, please, how in the hell did she, ohhhhhh, give birth before I did?
Katherine moans in agony as a contraction rolls over her.

Smirking, Stefan replies nonchalantly. "Must be her karma. Nikolas, I
will be in with the Collins, let me know when the baby arrives."

Downstairs, Cassidy types furiously into her computer. Lucky Spencer
sits next to her, using Stefan's lap top. "Um, Cass, exactly what are we
looking for again?"

"Something is off here, Lucky. Scott thinks Nikolas set him up to lose
Serena's fortune. Nikolas knows nothing about it and the common
denominator seems to be Katherine Bell. I need you to search her bank
records while I look at the employee files. Scott said the man
disappeared after meeting with him. Only four employees left Cassadine
Inc. within that time frame."

"I can't believe I'm helping you to clear Baldwin. My father must be
rolling in his grave right now." Lucky puffs on his cigar squinting
through the blue haze of the cigar smoke as he punches keys on the lap
top.

"Mr. Lucky! You know Master Nikolas refuses to have cigars smoked in
Wyndemere!" Mrs. Lansbury voice floats into the room as Lucky looks up
at her sheepishly.

"Come on, Mrs. L, I'm not flicking the ashes into the carpet."

"Good thing for you, I'd hate to throw you in the moat; I haven't fed
the alligators this week." Her eyes dance playfully as Lucky laughs.

"You're a doll, and one of the few reasons I still come by this spook
house."

"AHA!" Cassidy exclaims loudly as information begins to appear on her
screen.

"Aha what?" Alexis Hardy appears at Cassidy's side. "What did you find?"

"The employee who left, Jackson Peterson, is now employed with Deception
as vice president of marketing. His date of employment is two weeks
after Scott said the money disappeared. That wench set him up."

"That wench has Scott's money in her L.A. bank account. Damn, Baldwin
isn't as guilty as Nikolas thinks he is. They were both suckered. To
think my father always thought she was as a bright as a box of hair, the
woman definitely has some cunning going for her." Lucky shakes his head
in mixed admiration and disgust.

"I need to show this to Nik and Scott. I have the proof printing out,
I'll drop the papers off in Katherine's room before I visit my nieces."
Cassidy rises from the couch and plants a kiss on Lucky's lips. "You
done good, I doubt Luke's rolling in his grave, he's probably beaming
with pride."

As she walks away, Lucky chuckles. "You don't know my dad. I helped both
the Cassadines and Baldwins; he's positively spinning."

In the Collins' room, Stefan sits in a rocking chair and looks down at
the tiny infant in his arms. "Well, Destiny Victoria, you made quite an
entrance. I wonder if you and your sister will always make such grand
entrances?" (Chuckling)"Of course you will, you are Lucy's daughters."

He looks over at Kevin, who is asleep in a chair with Dom in his arms.
Stefan rises from his chair, and holding Destiny in his left arm gently
takes Dom into his right arm. Moving back to his chair, he cradles both
babies gently. "So many people waited for the two of you to arrive. Your
parents fought so hard for you both. You are very fortunate, for no two
people ever loved each other more than your parents love each other. I
may not be psychic like your mother, but I predict long and happy lives
for you both. I will see to that."

Cassidy stands in the doorway, watching Stefan rock the babies. Laura
appears behind her and replies wistfully. "He's such a natural when it
comes to children."

Without looking up, Stefan replies softly. "As are you, my love. Perhaps
you or Cassidy would like to take one of these beautiful ladies off my
hands."

Scott reads the papers Cassidy handed him and erupts into a fit of rage.
Picking up the closest object, he throws a vase into a nearby wall."YOU
CONNIVING BITCH!"

Nikolas looks at the broken vase then at Scott and grumbles angrily. "I
had my eye on throwing that, AFTER, the birth of this child."

Kathy glares at them both. "You're causing me more stress. Get out, Both
of you. This is my son, not yours."

His arms folded across his chest, Scott replies bitterly. "That child is
a part of either me or Cassadine. ONE of us will be raising him, because
I'm damn confident that neither of us wants him raised by you."

"As much as I hate to say it, I am in agreement with Scott. Alexis drew
up custody papers months ago. If Tyler is my son, I will have him in my
care by tomorrow." Glaring at Katherine, he adds smugly. "I am sure
Alexis will be glad to draw up similar papers for you, Baldwin."

"I already have them ready. How much longer, Karen?"

Karen looks up at her father and smiles. "We're almost there. Katherine,
I need you to start pushing."

"I'll see you both DEAD before either of you raises MY SON." Katherine
pushes hard as her rage takes over her body.

"Shut up and push, Kathy." Scott grumbles roughly as he holds on to her
hand.

Karen exclaims excitedly. "I see the head. Couple more good pushes and
Tyler will be here."

Kathy grips both Nikolas and Scott's hands as she pushes. "OHHHHH I hate
you both!"

Another push later, and Karen announces proudly. "You have a baby boy.
Who wants to cut the cord?"

The two men look at each other, and announce in unison. "I will."

Karen sighs as she looks at the angry men. "Okay, I'm thinking of a
number between one and ten.. Whoever is closest gets to cut the cord."

Nikolas scowls. "Seven."

Scotty glares. "Three."

"It's four; go for it, Dad. Nikolas, you hold him first. Sheesh, milk
and cookies anyone?"

Chapter 85 They All Lived Happily Ever After?

The brunette enters the police department and walks up to the desk in a
rush. "You have to help me! My husband has been abducted by a crazy
woman."

The police officer stares at the pretty young woman with bright blue
eyes. "Ma'am Slow down. What's your husband's name?"

"Ned Ashton-- he was taken by a woman claiming to be his wife." She
states with a thick Brooklyn accent.

"What is your name?"

She smiles wickedly. "Lois Ashton, What's it to ya?"

Bobbie walks into the Hospital with a big grin on her face. "I'm here to
relieve a certain over worked nurse." She announces.

Carly hugs her tightly. "You are so awesome. Did you have fun?"

"It was great. Thanks for letting me take him. It's been a long time
since I went trick or treating. Even if Lucas wasn't away at school
he's too old to be extorting candy door to door." Bobbie beams.

Robin walks up wearily. "Another person was admitted thinking he was a
werewolf. Full moons and Halloween just shouldn't happen on the same
day. I'm happy to announce I'm off." She smiles as Carly. "I owe you
dinner."

"For...?" She replies with a grin.

"For helping me with that Halloween party after two of the volunteers
bailed. I'm sorry you missed trick and treating with AR" Robin says
apologetically. "Jason and Mike are still out with the kids, so how
about we go to the Mae Ling's for Chinese food?"

"You don't have to ask me twice." She grabs her purse and then winks at
her mom. "Remember silver bullets take care of the werewolves."

"Ha ha, have fun girls." Bobbie grabs a chart and heads to the ER.
"Another Halloween at the hospital."

Katherine rests in her room, she holds the baby to her breast as he
nurses. "They're taking blood from those people who call themselves your
father. They won't take you from me. I'm stronger than either of them
give me credit for." After he finishes nursing she begins to bundle him
up. Rising from the bed, she grimaces in pain. "If Scott Baldwin could
make it out of here with stitches in his stomach, I can do this; I WILL
do this." Walking slowly she cradles Tyler in her arms as she walks out
of the hospital room. No one notices as she leaves and heads to her car.

Scott smiles at Karen as she takes his blood. "You were amazing
tonight."

"I'm still mad at you, Dad." She says firmly.

"Yeah, the three times you poked me with the needle kinda told me that.
Karen, I honestly thought he cheated me." Scott explains.

"Fine, you were duped by Katherine, but that doesn't excuse what you did
to Gina."

"I know, I never mean to fall in love with her. It just happened, and
now she's gone." He says miserably.

"OH I get it-- if you hadn't fallen for her then it would have been okay
to screw her over and toy with her emotions." Observing her father's
remorse over hurting Gina, "I never figured you for a quitter, Dad." She
bandages his arm. "You're done. Send in papa contestant number two."

Scott motions to Nikolas. "You're up."

"I already had my blood drawn by Dr. Goldstein. All we need to do now is
have Tyler tested." He announces as they begin to walk to Katherine's
room.

Carly and Robin giggles as they sit at a booth in the restaurant. Robin
takes a bite of her egg roll and grins. "Heaven."

"I must agree. I never tried this place before, how did you find it?"
Carly asks between bites.

"Working at the clinic but Chinatown was one of the first places I 'hung
out' when I moved to Port Charles as a child. It has a lot of memories
for me. Jason really doesn't like for me to come here at night, there's
been some problems recently. They appear to have died down though."
Robin scoops up a bite of ginger beef with her chopsticks. "I have to
remember to bring him some home."

Carly tosses her head back and laughs. "Right, and in two hours you'll
be hungry again and digging into his portion."

Robin smiles and begins to answer but is cut off as bullets explode into
the restaurant shattering glass. There is a brief and horrible silence
then the cries of the cut and injured rise from the remnants of Mae
Ling's.

Kevin and Lucy each hold one of their daughters as the night nurse
leaves the room. Once outside she walks to the payphone and dials a
number. "There are two, and one is named Destiny." She laughs
malevolently before hanging up the phone.

Scott emerges from the bathroom. "She's not there!" He says frantically.

Nikolas hangs up his cell phone. "She's no where in the hospital. No one
saw her leave with the baby! How could she leave undetected in her
condition?"

Scott says angrily. "She's determined and has something worth fighting
for. We have no time to lose. She makes it onto a plane and we're
toast."

Nikolas follows him out of the room. "She'll not disappear with this
child."

On a back road heading toward the airport, Katherine tries to defrost
her windshield. She grimaces in pain as she stretches to wipe the
condensation from the inside of the window. "Don't worry, Tyler; we're
almost there." The car hits a patch of blackice on the road and skids
out of control, ramming into a tree. Huge icicles fall from the weighted
branches and break the windshield of the vehicle. Katherine lays slumped
over the steering wheel, blood streaming down the side of her face as a
mewling cry comes from the back seat of the car.
