Chapter 82 Halloween

Kevin looks at his reflection critically in the mirror. "Why did I agree
to do this again?" He asks as Lucy waddles into the bedroom in a nun
costume.

"Because Mac won the coin toss. You look lovely, Norma." She teases.

"Right, but Felicia won her toss, and you make a beautiful nun, Sister
Mary Troublemaker." He chuckles. "Where are your glasses?"

She scowls. "Felicia's bringing them, pooh. I hate those things, I can
never see in them. I hope someone plans to lead me, Karen, Joe and
Serena around."

Kevin busts out laughing. "Right-- the three blind mice. We'll leave
them to Cleopatra and Marc Anthony. I really don't know if Scott has the
legs to pull off the toga."

"Oh, he can pull it off. I am just so happy that those cult heathens are
behind bars and away from us. I couldn't bear going out if they were
still lurking about." Lucy says as she examines herself in the long
mirror. "Whoever said black was slimming was a big fat liar! Hmmph, I
look like Shamu."

Kissing her cheek tenderly, Kevin whispers. "A more beautiful Shamu
there never was." He grimaces as she hits him playfully.

"That isn't funny! I wonder what Kathy will go as!" She cackles.

Nikolas emerges from his bedroom and grins. "How do I look?"

Staci and Lu giggle. "Dracula!" They say in unison.

"Shhh, Buffy could be lurking about." He teases.

"Oh Daddy, that's so 90's." Staci says rolling her eyes.

"Nikolas, I look like a fool." Katherine whines.

Nikolas hides a smile as she waddles in wearing her clown costume.
"Honey, you look fine."

In the upstairs suite, Stefan shakes his head. "I look ridiculous." He
pronounces.

"Ahh, Gomez, you're as handsome as the first day I saw you." Laura says
with a french accent. Her Morticia costume fitting her to a T. "How do I
look?"

Taking her arm in his hand he plants kisses moving slowly up the length
of her arm. "This is the only reason I agreed to this."

Scott chuckles as Joe trips on Karen's heel. "Careful, you're going to
fall."

"You could help us." Joe pronounces. "I should have never agreed to
this."

Serena giggles as she holds on to his back pocket. "Joe! You promised no
complaining."

Karen backs her up. "That's right! It was your bright idea to ask Dad
what we should go as."

Gina adjusts her costume. "The fact you listened to him has me concerned
about all of your mental health."

"Come on, my little mice, Castle Death awaits." Scott announces as he
leads his group into the mansion.

Cassidy giggles as Lucky exits the launch. "Stefan will have a heart
attack when he sees me."

Lucky looks at his fellow Blues brother and smiles. "You look awesome.
You brother, will have him dying."

Kevin grumbles. "These hose are too tight."

Mac snickers. "Your lip stick is smeared."

Lucy stumbles. "I hate these glasses. You'll pay for this next year,
Felicia."

Felicia rolls her eyes. "I knew I should have made her take a vow of
silence."

Stefan stands by the door and does a double takes as the group
approaches him. Looking from Cassidy to Kevin he mutters. "Trading
clothes is not advised when one's sibling is of the opposite sex."

Cassidy gives him a kiss on the cheek and retorts. "Like I'd be caught
dead in that dress."

Shouting in the livingroom catches the group's attention as they find
Nikolas holding a tape recorder in the air. "One more time, how well do
you know Katherine, Baldwin?"

Scott stiffens as Katherine glares at Nikolas. "What are you doing?"

Nikolas replies bitterly. " I have had enough of this nonsense."

Laura ushers Staci and Lu out of the room as Nikolas paces in front of
his guests. "I tried to hold my tongue until after the baby was born,
but to show up in my home, to make a mockery of me, Baldwin, you go too
far." He presses play as the conversation between Scott and Katherine
from months before plays for everyone's listening pleasure.

Scott pales as Gina closes her eyes in humiliation. Karen's angry glare
nearly moves him to his knees. His eyes fall on Serena who stands next
to Joe, confusion consuming her. "Turn it off!" He yells.

Nikolas chuckles. "Why? We're just getting to the good stuff."

"My daughters are here." He hisses.

Nikolas eyes fall on the young girl who clutches her brother-in-law's
hand tightly and pales. He never intended to involve another child in
this.

Trixie watches with delight as Lois picks up the package from the mail
bag. Focusing her binoculars, she waits for her to go into the hotel
room.

Lois smiles at Ned. "Ma sent us a present." Opening the gift, she let's
out a scream.

Ned rushes to her side and takes the box from her. In it is a pig's
heart with a knife in it. Looking at the note stuck to the knife, his
face hardens. "To Mrs. Ashton from the real Mrs. Ashton." Ned picks up
the phone and dials the police. "Don't worry baby, this freak will be
arrested."

Lois sinks onto the bed, shaking. "She knew my Ma's name and address.
She musta practiced the handwriting, I'm scared, Nedly."

"I'll handle this." Ned says firmly.

Trixie cackles with laughter as she says with a Brooklyn accent. "I'm
scared, Nedly."

 

Chapter 83 Welcome to My World

Scott stands angrily in front of Nikolas, his hands clenched in fists at
his side, glaring at the man who just sent his world crashing in.
"That's great, Cassadine. You got a tape of stealing my daughter's
inheritance too? I think the crowd here could use another great
floorshow."

Karen descends the stairs and yells out to the angry men. "Look, Dr.
Goldstein wants you both to know Kathy's in labor and one of you needs
to be up there."

Serena looks up at Kevin and whispers. "Why did Daddy do this?"

Kevin wraps his arms around her and hugs her tightly. "I think we're
about to find out."

"What the hell do you mean, Baldwin? Steal your daughter's inheritance?
Why would I need your daughter's money?" Nikolas eyes reflect the cold
in his heart as he watches Gina approach the men. "Well, nice of you to
show up. I made you a copy of the tape, in case you need to hear it
again."

Shaking, Gina stares at Scotty, her eyes filled with angry confused
tears. "Why?"

Turning to Gina, Scott places his hands on her shoulders. "Gina, I can
explain..things aren't how they seem..."

Backing away from him, she shakes her head. "You used me.." Looking
around the room, she begins to laugh. Her eyes fall on the
Quartermaines, then the Cassadines..finally settling back on Scott and
Nikolas. "I've been a pawn in your feud with my ex husband. I'll never
understand how men I love continually use me as their pawn..." Grabbing
her purse, she runs out of the room. Nikolas runs after her, catching up
to her just as she is about to leave the house.

"There is a storm, regain your senses before you do something stupid."
His words are cold and stern, as she faces him, her face covered with
hot, angry tears.

"You're enjoying this! I despise you! I despise you, A.J., Scott and any
other pig in your gender." She leans on the door for support, as she
looks up at her first husband.

Nikolas touches her face gently, and whispers. "You left me because I
wouldn't open up to you. You have always desired the truth and I have
never lied to you. I never lied to you, but you slept in his bed after I
told you what he was doing to me, to you. I am not enjoying this, I am
sickened by this. I am sick that I trusted you." He turns on his heel
and walks back into the living room. "Baldwin, I will be going upstairs
with Katherine. Once the child is born, we will have blood tests. If he
is mine, then I will retain full custody. This fabricated story about
your daughter's inheritance is useless. I have never taken anything from
a child."

Pushing him into a wall, Scott glowers at him. "YOU sent your employee
to scam me! He disappeared with my money and you are responsible for
that. You will pay for crossing me."

Lucy grabs Scott's arm and pulls him back. "ENOUGH! You big oaf! I want
a word with you!"

Pulling him into a spare hall way, Lucy slaps Scotty across the face.
"How could you?! You used Gina to hurt Nikolas? You went back to that
tramp, Kathy? Have you lost your mind? What kind of example are you
showing Serena? She and Karen heard everything tonight! You do you
realize how this will effect their image of you? I thought you changed!
I thought you were past these stupid schemes..I thought..ohhhhhhh" She
sinks to her knees as she grips her stomach.

Kneeling besides her, Scott calls out anxiously to the livingroom.
"KEVIN!!! Lucy, is it the babies? What's wrong?"

Digging her nails into his arm, she lets out a screech. "Ohh..get
Kevin.. my water just broke!"

Kevin rushes into the hallway and falls to his knees next to Lucy
missing the widening puddle at her feet. "I'm here.." (looking up at
Scott) "Find A Doctor.."

Scotty runs into the Cassadine livingroom and grabs Karen's arm. "I need
you."

"Not now Dad, I've nothing to say to you." Karen turns back to Joe and
begins talking.

"Lucy's in labor. I need your help." His voice is filled with anxiety as
Karen looks up at him.

"Where is she?"

Kevin walks into the livingroom supporting Lucy with an arm around her
waist. "Karen, I'm taking her upstairs, follow me."

Joe Scanlon watches as Karen and Scott follow Lucy and Kevin upstairs.
He spots Serena sitting alone in a corner and walks over to her. "Hey
half pint..wanna talk about it?" Shaking her head, she begins to cry
as Joe wraps his arms around her. "Okay, you don't have to say anything.
I'll be here when you want to."

Upstairs, Dr. Goldstein has joined Karen in Kev and Lucy's room. "Karen,
I'll take this birth. I'd appreciate if you'd take your father into
Katherine's room, I think you're both needed there."

Scott kisses Lucy's hand gently and smiles. "You're going to be fine,
Luce." He pats Kevin's shoulder as he walks from the room.

Lucy grips Kevin's hand and smiles at him tearfully. "It's happening.
It's finally happening. I'm so happy you're here with me! I couldn't do
this without you."

Kevin kisses her forehead and whispers tenderly. "You'll never have to
do anything without me. Emma? How is she?"

Dr. Goldstein smiles at them both. "Everything is fine. Just take deep
breaths and relax."

Lucy yelps as a pain hits her. "Talk to me, Kevin..I need to hear your
voice."

Kevin squeezes her hand and begins to speak. "You're doing great, Honey.
You haven't looked this beautiful since the day we married in Hawaii."

Lucy closes her eyes and pictures their wedding day. The flowers, the
image of Kevin standing by the justice of peace, his white pants and
poet shirt blowing in the breeze as she walks toward him. Smiling
happily as they take their vows..hand in hand..

Kevin's eyes fill with tears as he relives the day Lucy told him about
the baby..the babies.."Do you know how happy you make me, Lucy? I am
incomplete without you."

Lucy takes his hand in hers and stares into his warm brown eyes. "We
complete each other..and our children..they will complete us even more.
I love you.." She begins to groan as her contractions hit harder.

"Do you remember last Valentine's Day?"

"How could I forget.." Lucy smiles as she remembers their picnic by the
duck pond..Siggy with his bright red ribbon tied around his
neck..dangling from it, a bracelet from Kevin. The dance they shared as
a sky full of bright stars shined down upon them. The feel of his arms
wrapped around her..

"Do you remember our first breakfast in bed?" Her eyes dance with
laughters as she begins to breath deeply.

"I remember every moment we've shared.. I still remember the first
breakfast you made for Serena.."

"Mickey Mouse Pancakes!" Lucy squeezes his hand as Dr. Goldstein
instructs her to start pushing.

Without you

"OHHHHHHHHH Kevin..They're almost here..." She pushes hard, as Kevin
coaches her gently.
"You're doing great, Sweetheart. Keep pushing.." Visions of Lucy fill
his mind as he watches her breathing and fighting...his Lucy..his
fighter.

"I see the first head...You're doing great, Lucy." Dr. Goldstein smiles
up at Lucy, who lets out a scream.

"Doc!! Names! We don't have names for our babies. They have to have
names.."

Kevin laughs as he holds her tenderly. "We agreed to wait until we see
them. Their karma will give us the perfect names-- remember.."

"Don't mock me buster..ohhh" Lucy lets out a scream as the first of
their miracles arrives.

"It's a girl..Kevin, can you hold the baby.." Kevin gently cuts the cord
from his first daughter and wraps her in a blanket. Moving back to
Lucy's side, he cradles their daughter in his arm as he holds on to
Lucy's hand.

Moments later Lucy delivers another perfect baby girl. Dr. Goldstein
watches as Kevin hands the first baby tenderly to her mother. After
cutting the cord to their second daughter, he gently wraps the baby in a
blanket and takes a seat in a chair next to Lucy's bed. "Mommy, we have
two beautiful daughters who need names." Tears gently slide down his
face as he looks at the three beautiful women in his life.

Looking at the little infant in her arms, Lucy smiles at the little
girl. "Destiny Victoria. Named after the force that brought your father
and me together, and your wonderful grandfather."

Kevin smiles lovingly at Lucy and replies. "It's perfect. And you, my
angel, you are Dominique ... is there a feminine version of Malcolm?
How about Mallory...named after the two best friends your mother and I
ever had." Looking up at Lucy he winks. "I think Scott and Felicia will
understand."

"I know they will. Dominique and Destiny..welcome to our family." Lucy
kisses the babies forehead and begins to cry softly. "We did it, Doc. We
did it."
