GH2005 CHAPTER 7 GOOD ADVICE

Port Charles: home of the Scorpios-- Mac Scorpio answers the door and allows
A.J. in.
Mac: "A.J., What can I do for you?"
A.J. paces then looks at Mac. "I need your help. Actually I need both yours
and Felicia's. I'm guessing you saw the headlines."
Mac nods while Felicia joins them. "A.J. hello, I didn't hear the door. I
was busy helping Georgie with a school project."
Mac smiles at Felicia. "A.J. needs our help. Hasn't told me with what exactly."
Felicia looks at A.J. curiously. "Does our help involve the fiasco that took
place at the hotel?"
A.J. nods. "Somebody set me up. I want to know who and more importantly why.
I know Nikolas Cassadine is behind this in some way, but I have a feeling
this is not all his doing. I need proof either way. It's the only way I'm
going to be able to salvage my political career, and hopefully my marriage
as well."
Felicia "Why would Nik Cassadine be behind this? I mean what does he gain
from it?"
Mac turns to Felicia. "Hon, He was married to Gina. Maybe it's jealousy,
could be any number of reasons. (He turns to A.J.) Okay, we'll check into
to it for you. Usual fees."
A.J. nods."With an added bonus if any legal charges can be brought against
the person behind this. I want them to pay."
Mac shows A.J. out and then turns to Felicia. "Ready for a new case?"
Felicia smiles and wraps her arms around Mac. "Absolutely, you know how I
love to work with my favorite partner."
Mac: "Really, do I know this person and should I be jealous?" Felicia
smiles seductively. "Very jealous, he's handsome, an adventurer and more
importantly I'm crazy about him."
Mac kisses her neck, then her cheek and finally whispers in her ear. "Yeah,
well you should meet my partner. She has a body that won't wait, a
personality to match and she can out shoot just about anyone I ever met."
Felicia sighs. "Sounds like a winner-- you should keep her around."
Mac: "I'm never letting her go again."

General Hospital

Carly Roberts is filing some charts when Tony Jones walks by. She
immediately smells his cologne, but purposely postpones looking up. After
the last chart is filed, she looks up at him with a forced smile. "Tony."
Tony smiles back. "I wanted to check with you about keeping Anthony next
week. Bobbie and I are planning on visiting Lucas at the boarding school
and I thought Anthony might enjoy seeing him."
Carly ponders for a moment then nods. "That's fine. Lucas called yesterday
and they talked for a little while. Anthony adores him you know. Lucas
sounded a little lonely."
Tony nods. "I got the same feeling. He got in trouble again. I don't know
why he's fighting all the time. Anyway, that's part of the reason we're
heading up there. Seems the dean would like to speak with us."
Carly smiles. "He told me about the fight. I sent him cookies last week, but
I have a free weekend coming soon, maybe I'll take a trip up there and sign
him out for the weekend, if that's okay with you and Bobbie."
Bobbie Jones joins them. "If what's okay with Bobbie?"
Tony "Carly said it was fine for us to take Anthony with us this weekend.
She was planning on heading up to see Lucas herself in a couple weeks. If
that's okay with you."
Carly interjects. "He sounded lonely. Besides sometimes he opens up to me."
Bobbie fights the jealousy and nods. "True, he definitely loves his Carly.
I have no problem with that. I'm grateful for any help with him these days.
By the way, I wanted to tell you that Mrs. Steven's came in today for a
follow-up; wanted me to tell you again how much she appreciated your help.
You really made an impression on her."
Carly smiles at the compliment. "Thanks Bobbie. That really means a lot. She
is such a sweet lady."
Bobbie turns to Tony. "Ready for that lunch break?"
Tony nods and excuses himself from Carly. She watches them leave with the
same envy that always overcomes her whenever she sees them together. She is
lost in her thoughts and doesn't see A.J. approach.
A.J. "Hello, earth to Carly."
Carly smiles. "Sorry, guess I was out there. What's up?"
A.J. "I'm looking for my mother. Any chance she's around and free?"
Carly shakes her head. "Sorry, heart attack victim came in about a half hour
ago. She's going to be tied up for a while."
A.J. sighs."Any chance my wife is here?"
Carly looks at him sympathetically."Gina has taken a short leave of absence.
I'm sorry about what happened A.J. This must be hell on you."
A.J. nods. "Ever feel like your whole life is spinning out of control and
you can't do anything to stop it?"
Carly laughs. "Yeah, every day."
A.J. looks at her curiously. "So, what do you do?"
Carly sighs. "I look at my son's smiling face or I save a person's life here
or I just walk by the OB and see all the new babies. It helps. In fact come
with me." Carly takes him by the hand and leads him to pediatrics. They
stop in front of the nursery."See these beautiful babies? They are what
life's all about. New starts. You don't have to be a newborn to get one.
Trust me, I've started over more times than I want to admit, but if I can do
it anyone can."
A.J. smiles at her."Thank you. No wonder you and Jason are friends."
Carly laughs."What do you mean? All this optimism? Jason would laugh at me
and tell me to cut to the chase. I know everything seems hopeless right now,
A.J. But it will get better. If you ever need to talk, I'm usually around."
Her beeper goes off and she looks at him apologetically."Of course not
around for a long period of time. Gotta go."
A.J. watches her rush off and smiles. "Thanks for the optimism."
As Carly is heading to the ER she smiles. "Let him go Gina, I'll be more
than glad to pick up the pieces."

Bensonhurst

Ned, Dylan and the girl's are watching a video of Ned's last concert when
Lois appears in the living room carrying her overnight bag. "Ned, honey, It's
time."
Ned looks up and then reality kicks in. He jumps up and grabs the bag.
Looking at Dylan, he orders. " I'll call Mrs. Rosario. She'll help you with the
girls. I've left a list of numbers. Call Gloria and Carmine, and tell them
we've left for the hospital. Next, call Jason and Robin. Robin will call
Brenda and Justus. I'll have my cell phone if any emergencies occur. The
house is yours for right now okay."
Dylan nods. "This is my second time. I know the drill. I will help Mrs. Rosario.
Don't worry about us."
A few minutes pass and Mrs. Rosario rushes in. "Go Go. I have everything
under control. I'll start some dinner."
Lois is kissing her daughters as Ned pats Dylan on the back."Thanks for
keeping it together. I know you'll be fine. I trust you. We have to go." He
turns to his daughters."Mrs. Rosario is in charge. I know I don't have to
tell you to obey her, but I will anyway. Any problems and I will not be
happy. Be good and we'll call you soon."
Lois grabs Ned's hand."Ned, Honey this one isn't waiting. We need to go."
Ned ushers her out and Dylan turns to the girls. "Okay it's just us now. I'll
play with you guys while Mrs. Rosario makes dinner. Brooke, I have to make a
couple of phone calls. Can you keep track of them for a few minutes."
Brooke nods."No problem. (turning to her sisters) let's watch the rest of
daddy's tape."

Wyndemere..
Laura and Nikolas are sipping tea in the dining room. Laura has been questioning
why he chose to hurt Gina and Nikolas has been evading giving explanations.
Nikolas:"Mother, I don't see the point in rehashing this. I did what I had
to do. I have no regrets with my actions."
Laura sighs."Nikolas, I understand why you felt you needed to do what you did,
but do you at least see now how damaging those actions were? Luke used to do
the same thing with me. He'd make decisions about my life and then when something
would backfire and I would get hurt, or more so other people would be hurt,
he'd just shrug and say he did what he had to do."
Nikolas sighs."Mother, I did what I thought was best. Are you honestly comparing me to Luke?
I never meant for her to get hurt, but she did. Now I will make it up to her."
Laura looks at him carefully choosing her words."It's not always easy to
make things up to people when you have hurt them. I should know. Nikolas, I
feel partly responsible for your way of reasoning. I hurt you many times
when you were young and I always fell back on the excuses that I never meant
to and that I did what I had to do. I always relied on the fact I could make
it up to you."
Nikolas nods."And so you did. So, what's the problem?"
Laura shakes her head."I never fully made it up to you Nikolas and you know
that as well as I do. You don't trust me. I know you love me and I know you
realize that I love you, but you will never trust me. Your Uncle and I have
always loved you but some of the things we did in the name of that love have
ruined your trust in people. You don't trust Gina, that's why she left. Now,
you try and protect her by controlling parts of her life that are not yours
to control."
Nikolas interrupts her."She is my wife. It is my duty to protect her."
Laura sighs in exasperation."She is your ex- wife and you have no right
to try and control her personal life. You created a beautiful daughter
together, and experienced the pains and joys of first love together. She has
moved on Nikolas, and so must you. Think about how you felt whenever Stefan
or I controlled something in your personal life."
Nikolas becomes agitated."Mother, I realize what you are trying to tell me, but
I don't see what one thing has to do with another."
Laura smiles."They have everything to do with each other. In our attempt to
protect you and care for you, we have created a monster. (She laughs to show
him she is teasing) Nikolas, we didn't set the best example then, and I
won't fool myself into thinking I can tell you how to live your life now. I
can offer you a warning though. Learn from the mistakes of your parents and
your loved ones. Don't make the same ones. If you love Gina and you want her
back then you need to be ready to trust her. If you can't do that, then you
need to set her free." Laura rises . "I love you,
Nikolas. I just don't want you to be hurt by your own actions or by your
conscience."
Nikolas watches his mother leave and sighs. "I know, Mother. I know."

Flight 2987 from Florida to Port-Charles, New York.

A young man is sitting in his seat reading the Port-Charles newspaper. He
has curly brown hair, big brown eyes and a sly, mysterious smile. Flipping
through the pages of the newspaper as he hears the Pilot announce they are
about to land. The young man rebuckles his seatbelt and waits until the plane has
landed and then leaves the plane. He's dressed casually, blue jeans and a
button down green shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He is the picture of the
all American boy. Boyishly good looks and an athletic body. Picking up his
cell phone, he dials a familiar number and waits for the answer.
"Mom, it's me. Yeah I got here fine. No, I haven't found him yet, but it
won't be too hard. His picture is in the paper. I'll be careful, Mom. You
worry too much. Yes, I'll call you again as soon as I'm settled. It's Port
Charles, not New York City! Relax, hell Tampa is crazier than this place. I
love you too." He hangs up the phone and heads toward the baggage claim.
