GH2005. 27: Endings, Beginnings & Everything In Between
Lucy comes out from the bathroom looking pale. Kevin gently applies a
cool washcloth to her face and helps her to the couch. He slips off her
heels and begins to massage her feet.
Lucy:"Don't stop-- that feels wonderful. Oh Doc, I just feel so icky
these days. I don't remember it being this bad with Serena. Speaking of
Serena, did I tell you about her fascination with reporting? She was
showing me her impression of a news reporter. Though she was modeling
Veronica Bowles, that woman is the scum of the earth, you know. The way
she has hounded poor Laura all of these years. I have a psychic feeling
about her. It has to do with Alexis' son, you know Stone? He has really
sprouted up these days; hasn't he? He reminds me so much of Sonny. You
know Sonny would have just taken care of Veronica Bowles, I bet the only
person who actually likes that woman is Kathy, and can you believe she's
pregnant with Nikolas Cassadine's baby? I can't believe it. Poor Laura,
eewww to have the spawn of Kathy be your grandchild. I couldn't believe
that a smart boy like Nikolas could become involved with a vixen like
Katherine. Poor Gina, she left the party in near tears. Nikolas will be
raked over the coals for not telling Gina about Kathy being pregnant.
Good for her too, now Gina and Nikolas they were a real couple. The way
those two still look at each other, well it's obvious nothing is over
between them. "
Lucy stops for a second and realizes Kevin is staring at her as he rubs
her feet.
Lucy:"What?"
Kevin laughs."You're amazing. The scary thing is I followed that entire
monologue with no problem."
Lucy Laughs."That's because we're connected. I'm really happy about the
baby, but tell me the truth, Doc; are you?"
Kevin nods."Yes, Lucy I am happy."
Lucy:"Well, because I remember years ago you didn't want any kids. You
really flipped on me when I even mentioned them and now suddenly we're
having a baby and I guess what I need to know is --will this be a
problem for you? I mean not everyone wants to be a parent, not that you
won't be a great one, because Doc, I know you're going to be a great
father, but the question is do you want to be a father? Though I guess
it's kind of a silly question to ask now considering I'm pregnant and
well you're going to be a father, but are you really truly happy doc?"
Kevin kisses her and then looks up at her."Shut up Lucy."
She looks at him shocked."DOC?"
Kevin sits on he couch and pulls her to him. taking her by the shoulders
he looks deep into her eyes."Let me explain this to you. I love you. I
have always loved you. No I haven't always wanted to be a father, and
I'm not sure if I would have agreed to have a baby if we had to planned
to do so. There was a time when this kind of news would have sent me
reeling and I would not be able to handle it. That was a long time ago,
Lucy. We're having a baby and yes, I am happy. I'm going to be a
father. I look at you , glowing and more beautiful than ever, and I fall
in love with you all over again. I want to make you my wife and I want
to raise our child. I love you, Lucy."
Lucy throws her arms around him and kisses him happily."I love you too,
Doc. I was so scared that you would have a set back or that you'd leave
me. I'm so relieved that you want to have this baby and raise it
together. I love you, Doc."
They begin to kiss passionately and head into the bedroom.
Gina's Apartment
Nikolas knocks on the door and finally a very angry Gina lets him in.
Nikolas:"Gina, please I think we need to talk."
Gina laughs at him angrily."Talk? You got Katherine pregnant and never
told me. I find out about it at Robin and Jason's party. She enjoyed
telling me. You should have seen her eyes light up when she realized I
didn't know. Her fake apologies and then asking if we could be friends.
You really know how to pick them, Nikolas."
Nikolas looks at her disbelieving."Katherine wouldn't do that. You're
upset and angry, but it's not Katherine's fault. Gina, things happened
at home. I wanted to be the one who told you but I got consumed with
family responsibilities."
Gina looks at him with hate filled eyes."Does Staci know?"
Nikolas shakes his head."Of course not. I wanted to tell her together.
You and I have always been a team when it comes to Anastacia."
Gina nods.'Well, at least you did one thing right. I can't believe I
felt guilty for taking Lucky to bed. You don't have any guilt over this
situation; do you?"
Nikolas faces turns to stone at the mention of Lucky. "Katherine isn't
your sister. How dare you compare it to what you did."
Gina laughs."No, Katherine is just Stefan's ex lover. Keeping it in the
family either way I suppose."
Nikolas takes a step back as if he's been slapped. He looks into her
eyes and feels a shiver go down his spine. She'd never been this angry
before. He searches for the right words but they don't come. He looks at
her again and she senses what he's thinking.
Gina:"So you finally understand. You're finally realizing what I've been
trying to make clear to you all this time. I don't love you anymore,
Nikolas. We share a daughter-- nothing else."
Gina watches with silent satisfaction as his brown eyes fill with pain.
For a second she relishes as he feels the same pain she felt last night.
But it's short lived, as she watches the pain turn Nikolas to ice in
front of her she realizes she's made a mistake. Nikolas turns and heads
to the door. She fights the urge to stop him. He turns and gives her one
final look before leaving. Once the door is closed, Gina falls to her
floor crying, finally grieving the loss of her first husband.
Nikolas enters his limo and gives the driver instructions. He closes the
window that separates them and leans back into his seat. The tears
begins to flow down his cheeks as he takes the wedding picture from his
wallet and tears it up. "Goodbye Gina."
The park
Katherine arrives just after Stefan for a second neither say anything.
Stefan:"You made it."
Katherine:"YOU sounded urgent on the phone."
Stefan:"Well, I have been reflecting on our time together, all those years ago."
Katherine smiles at him sweetly."I remember all our experiences together, Stefan. You know my memory has always been top notch."
Stefan smiles slightly ."So's mine. I remember you telling me something
ages ago. I believe it was you think like I do. YOU stop at nothing TO GET what you want. Well, if that's true then you realize I think you're pulling a pregnancy scam on Nikolas. "
Katherine looks at him curiously. "Really? Well, I'd like to see you convince Nikolas of that. I love him, Stefan; and we're going to have a
beautiful life together. Funny, who would've thought I would be carrying your grandchild. I'd say it goes beyond ironic."
Stefan stares at her trying to size up the situation."I'm demanding a
blood test on the baby, Katherine. Nikolas may argue with me, but he'll
see the intelligence in the testing. You had barely took Nikolas to
your bed and you're pregnant. That is too curious to be believed, even
for Nikolas."
Katherine smiles at him."Well, young men are very, how do we put it,
productive? I'd have taken further precautions, but then I'm used to
older, colder men."
Stefan brushes off the insult."What is it you want, Katherine?"
Katherine laughs as she turns to leave."Everything I have, Stefan. I'll
see you at Wyndemere. Give my love to Laura." Stefan watches her leave
and sputters in disgust."You have nothing, Katherine, for you don't have
the truth. No one deceives the Cassadines and walks away."
