GH2005. 22 Tragedy And Celebrations

Robin enters the Scorpio home and smiles at Mac and Felicia cuddling on the couch."I knew I should have knocked."
Mac smiles rising to hug her."The day you knock to enter this house is the day I serve nothing but health food at the Outback."
Felicia hugs her."You missed Evan. He called a little while ago to inform us; he and Emily are on a road trip."
Robin nods."I'll catch up with him soon. I've something to tell you both though. Actually a few things."
Mac grows concerned."Are you okay?"
Robin laughs."Yes! Much better than okay. Uncle Mac, I'm cured! It's a long story. I'm sorry, I didn't inform you that I even tried a cure before. I didn't tell Jason either; I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up. But it worked. I'm cured."
Felicia and Mac sit in amazement. Mac turns to her."You're going to have to go into more detail on the cure. I didn't follow everything, but you're really okay? It's over?" Robin nods and Mac feels the tears of relief fall down his cheeks as he picks her up swinging her around."Oh Thank God!! I knew you'd be okay!! Oh baby, congratulations!!" Robin cries happy tears as Felicia join them in the hug. Georgie and Lu come in at the shouting.
Georgie: "Robin? Are you okay? Why is everyone crying?"
Robin smiles at the girls concern."I didn't know you two were here?"
Lu smiles."My family was having a dinner party so Mac and Felicia brought me with them when they picked up Georgie. Are you okay, Robin?"
Robin smiles at them both."You two know that I've been HIV+, right?"
Georgia and Lu nod and then Georgie freaks."Oh No-- it's turned to AIDS. Robin, No!!"
Robin reaches out and hugs her."No honey. Listen, They found a cure. I'm okay. I'm finally okay. No more HIV." The girls look at her and then both hug her, congratulating her. Robin turns to Mac and Felicia, "Jason and I are getting married." 
The girls squeal."A wedding!"
Mac beams and hugs her again."I hope you have the best marriage and life possible. No one deserves it more than you."
Robin cries and hugs him."You'll give me away, right?"
Mac shakes his head."Never, but I will walk you down the isle. I love you, baby."
She hugs him harder."I love you too, Uncle Mac."

Jason enters the Quartermaine living room and smiles. "Glad you could all make it." A.J., Alan, Monica, and Justus look at him. Jason looks around."Where's Emily?"
Alan:"She took off on some road trip with Mac's son. Jason, is everything all right?"
Jason nods."Better than all right. I want everyone to know that two great things have happened. First of all Robin is cured of HIV. She didn't tell me or anyone else about taking this new drug three years ago, but it worked. She's fine. "
Alan beams;"Thank God. Jason, I'm so happy for both of you."
Monica hugs him."Congratulations honey. You know we've all prayed for that."
Jason nods."The second thing is Robin proposed to me. We're getting married."
Justus laughs."Proposed to you? Now that I would have liked to see. Congratulations, Jason."
They shake hands and A.J. approaches him."No one deserves it more than you two. Congratulations."
They hug and Jason turns to them all."Thanks. Robin is with Mac and Felicia right now, but we're heading to Bensonhurst in a few minutes to tell Ned and Lois. I hear Brenda is there as well. No one tells Emily. Just have her come yo our place when she gets back into town. Maxie is away on some trip with her friends as well. So maybe we can tell them together. I'd better go. I'm taking the Q jet, okay?" They all nod and he exits.
Monica turns to Alan."Things have never been better for him."
The phone rings and Alan answers."Quartermaines. What? Are you sure? Oh dear lord. No, I'll tell Laura. Thank you for notifying me." He turns to Monica. "Amy slipped in the shower in the nurses locker room. She's dead."
Monica covers her mouth and then begins to cry."Oh no, not Amy. Oh my god. How did this happen?"
Alan holds her tenderly."Why does God give you good news in one hand and tragedy in the other? I told Garcia that I would tell Laura. It might be easier if she heard from us. Would you care to come along?" Monica nods and they leave together.
A.J. turns to Justus."God, that's horrible."
Justus nods. "Tragedies and celebrations, that's what life is made up of."

A little while later Alan and Monica knock on the Wyndemere door. Lucky is about to leave as he lets them in. "Come on in."
Alan notices his coat. "Lucky, I think you better stay for a moment. We have something we need to tell your family." Lucky nods and shows them to the living room. Nikolas, Laura and Stefan are there chatting.
Stefan smiles."Alan, Monica-- what a pleasant surprise."
Laura notices that Monica is crying. "Monica what's the matter? Has something happened?"
Monica nods but is unable to speak. Alan clears his throat."Laura, please sit down. There isn't an easy way to tell you this." Laura sits and takes Stefan's hand. Lucky sits on the couch next to Nikolas and they all look at Alan. Alan takes a deep breath."There was an accident in the nurses' shower. Amy slipped and cracked her head on the shower wall."
Laura jumps up."I need to see her. How bad is it?"
Alan takes her gently by the shoulders."Laura, I'm sorry. "
Laura begins to sob and Stefan grabs her before she falls. He rocks her gently as she continues to cry. Lucky takes a deep breath and feels Nikolas hand on his shoulder squeezing it comfortingly. Both men fight back their own tears.

Bensonhurst
Robin and Jason approach the front door.
Robin:"We're getting here so late."
Jason laughs."I called Ned. They're expecting us."
The door opens and Ned lets them in. "Lois is feeding the baby. She'll be right out."
Brenda runs to Robin and they hug,"Robin, look at you!! You look great!!!"
She turns to Jason."Hi Jason."
Jason nods."Brenda."
They all head to the living room and take seats. Lois comes out and hugs them both."You sure you won't stay the night? It's pretty late. Mom and Pop are visiting friends so their room is free."
They shake their heads. "Really, we're awake. We're going to head back to Port-Charles tonight. We just had some stuff to tell you that had to be said in person." Jason looks at Robin who continues."They found a cure for HIV. I'm okay. I'm HIV free." Brenda and Lois squeal as they hug her and then hurriedly hush.
Brenda:"All the kids are asleep. We'd better keep it down."
Ned kisses Robin on the cheek."Congratulations, honey."
Jason smiles."And Robin proposed to me, so we're getting married."
Lois and Brenda fight the urge to squeal again and hug Robin again. Ned pulls Jason up and hugs him tightly."Congratulations Jason, Robin. You both deserve it."
Jason looks at him. "I want you to be my best man."
Ned beams."Absolutely."
Robin turns to them both."I want you both standing up for me." They all hug again. Robin turns to Jason. "I've never been happier!"
Jason smiles."Me either, Robin. Me either."
Lois looks at them both."When is the wedding?"
Jason and Robin respond in unison."ASAP."
Lois laughs."You ain't going home tonight. We have a wedding and an engagement party to plan. Not necessarily in that order."
Robin turns to Jason."We still have to tell Mike."
Jason smiles."I'll send the jet back for him tomorrow. Have to spend some of that Q money. Okay we'll stay."

In the nurses locker room Taggert and Garcia are looking at the accident scene.
Taggert:"Looks like she slipped on the soap. What a way to go out. How long she been a nurse here?"
Garcia: "Years. This is the oddest thing I've seen. I mean slipped on soap and cracked her head? Doesn't that strike you as strange?"
Taggert shrugs."A little. But then I've fallen on soap before. I never hit my head at that angle though."
Garcia nods."That's what I was thinking."
Taggert sighs. "But we don't know how she was standing. I think this is what we call a freak accident."
Garcia watches Taggert move to the other side of the room and thinks to himself. "There has to be something more to this.' He picks up his phone and calls Mac."I need a sounding board again."
