GH2005 CHAPTER 10 LUCKY'S CLUB
Lucky sits at his corner table watching the people file in as the bands warm up. Mike joins him at the table. Mike: "Crowded tonight. These amateur nights pack this place."
Lucky smiles."I know, brilliant idea on my part. Okay, well on Lucy's part, but I agreed to it. Speaking of Lucy. Excuse me."
Lucky walks toward Lucy and Kevin and picks Lucy up wheeling her around, "You get more beautiful every day."
Lucy laughs."You become more like your father every day. Look at this place, I told you this would bring in a crowd. I know you had your doubts, but the crystals never lie. They told me-- amateur band night. Look at this place, look at you. Lucky, put that cigar out of your mouth, it's a nasty habit; did you change the decor in here? Something is different. Oh uniforms, did you get my fax on new uniforms? I think you'll love them, you know that cigar will cut years from your life, your father always smoked those icky things, not that they cut years from his life, that didn't come out right.
Oh Poo, I did it again; didn't I?"
Lucky stares at her in awe before answering. "Loved the new uniform idea. I like my cigars; they calm my nerves. New paintings and a fresh coat of paint to the bar, yeah, your crystals were right. This place will be on fire tonight. I'd never doubt you, babe; no, you didn't put your foot in your mouth regarding Dad. You know I understand you better than anyone."
Kevin claps his hands."Excellent, I've never seen anyone else follow her conversation like that."
Lucky bows and feels someone kiss the top of his head."Mom."
Laura smiles."Hey honey. You sure you can find a table for the four of us? It's crowded tonight."
Lucky smiles."There is always a table for the two prettiest gals in town."
He offers his elbows to both ladies. "Follow me, girls."
Stefan smiles at Kevin. "He does have a certain charm with ladies, doesn't he?" Kevin smiles."Yes, even with those hideous cigars and calling women darling, babe etc., the women find him irresistible. Must be Luke's legacy."
Stefan ignores the comment and walks with Kevin to their table.
Lucky leaves them. Stefan smiles at Kevin and Lucy."I'm glad we decided to do this. Lasha has been complaining about being cooped up on the island."
Lucy:"Well, if it wasn't so creepy; she probably wouldn't mind it."
Kevin:"Luce."
Lucy:"Stefan, I know this great decorator, he'd take that Count Dracula mystique away and make your island more . . . homey."
Kevin:"Lucy."
Stefan smiles: "Hmmm perhaps some duck patterns in the kitchen and some pastels in the living room?"
Lucy gets excited."Exactly, lighten the place up a little. Get rid of some of that fog, come on admit it, you really fly it in don't you?"
Stefan begins to laugh and raises his glass."To the incorrigible Lucy Coe, we wouldn't have her any other way."
Stefan's attention is diverted when his eye catches Nikolas escorting Katharine to a table. Stefan:"What the hell?"
Laura, Kevin and Lucy turn to the table. Lucy:"Eewwwww, what is she doing back?"
Laura:"They're just having dinner, I'm sure it's nothing."
Katharine leans over and kisses Nikolas and the two begin to whisper, seemingly oblivious to the people around them.
Katharine:"You sure you want to stay here? Your brother is amused, but your
Uncle, mother and Lucy and Kevin are staring at us."
Nikolas brushes the hair from her cheek."Let them stare. People used to stare when my Uncle took my mother out on the town. He has no room to criticize. Dance with me?" He takes her by the hand and they dance to a sexy blues song.
Gina walks into the club and stops cold. She watches Nikolas lead Katharine to the dance floor. Lucky comes up behind her."Need a table?"
Gina shakes her head and rushes out of the club passing Emily and Evan as they walk in. Emily stops Lucky."Is she okay?"
Lucky shakes his head."I need to go talk to her. Take your usual table."
Lucky leaves, and Emily grabs a menu and leads Evan to a table. She grins at him."One of the perks of knowing the owner. Of course he'll probably ask us to seat people."
Evan laughs."You weren't kidding when you said this place would be rocking."
Emily:"This is nothing, wait till the bands start to playing. There will be people everywhere. I hope Gina is okay."
Evan:"Are you two friends?"
Emily nods."She's married to my brother, and used to be married to a friend.
In fact, that's him dancing. Oh my god, that's Katharine."
Evan turns to where Katharine and Nikolas are dancing."Isn't she a little old for him?"
Emily nods."He's been infatuated with her for years. You know, your dad used to be involved with her years ago."
Evan takes a look at her."I can see why; she's beautiful."
Emily laughs."Leave it to Nikolas to go after the beauties."
Evan kisses Emily's hand gallantly."Not near as beautiful as you."
Outside Gina is crying when Lucky pulls her to him and holds her.
Gina:"Why? Why would he send my marriage into a tail spin if he didn't want me back?"
Lucky squeezes her tightly."Who says he doesn't want you back? Baby, I wish I knew what to tell you, but I can't read Nikolas any better than you can."
Gina cries softly into Lucky's chest and breaths in his cologne. She feels herself melting into his protective arms and gentle soothing. She looks up at him and sees his blue eyes smiling at her filled with concern. She wonders, 'How can he be so different from Nikolas? ' "I'm a mess."
Lucky shakes his head as he wipes away her tears."You're a knock out. Now, How about being my date tonight? "
Gina nods."You're my rock, Lucky; you always have been."
Lucky kisses her cheek."I'm here anytime you need me."
They walk into the club and see Emily's old friend Matt approaching her table. Lucky:"Excuse me."
Matt walks over to Emily and leans on her side of the table."Hey Em, miss me?"
Emily appalled."Matt, I thought you were in jail?"
Matt shakes his head."Nope, free and clear. I missed you, Em. How about a dance? For old time's
sake?"
Before Emily can answer Lucky has pulled Matt from the table and punched him. Matt falls to the ground and Lucky leers over him."Get the hell out of my club, scum; while you can still walk." Matt slowly rises. He and Lucky begin to walk around each other.
Laura turns to Stefan."I have to stop this."
Stefan takes her hand."Lucky has it under control. Stay here."
Matt:"Well, Lucky Spencer. Haven't seen you in awhile? Thought maybe you were playing dead. Oh wait, your mom is the one who does that right?"
Lucky raises his fist to punch him again but Nikolas puts a hand on his shoulder. Nikolas: "Temper little brother. Matt, what do we owe this visit to? Has the state penal system kicked you out again?"
Matt laughs:"Well Cassadine, you've grown a sense of humor since that last time I saw you. You two still fighting each other's battles? (Turning to Lucky) I didn't realize you needed your big brother to fight for you, Lucky."
Nikolas grips down a little harder on Lucky's shoulder to keep him in place.
Nikolas:"MY brother's capable of wiping the floor with you without assistance from me, but there are ladies present. Matt, leave here now."
Matt laughs and turns to Emily."They're still fighting for your honor. You must be better in the sack than I imagined."
Nikolas punches Matt, and Matt falls into a nearby table. Nikolas turns to Lucky. "I'll pay for that table."
Lucky grabs Matt and slams him into a nearby wall. (To Nikolas)"How many times do I have to tell you? When you kick someone's ass-- you pin them to a wall. I'll let that table go though." Lucky punches Matt in the gut."See, nice and easy and he doesn't break anything this way."
Nikolas nods and takes Lucky's place."So I just keep him pinned here and hit him?" Nikolas lands two swift punches to Matt's face."You're right, little brother; this is much easier."
Lucky goes to hit him again but Evan intervenes."Actually guys, I think he's had enough. I'll escort him out since he was harassing my date."
Evan grabs Matt by the neck and leads him to the exit. On the way he runs Matt's head into the bar."Oops, I should watch where I'm going." Evan tosses Matt out into the parking lot. Laura's sons join him.
Lucky:"Stay away Matt. You won't walk out of here next time."
Matt is lying on the ground gripping his stomach."You won't get away with this! I'll have you all up on charges."
Evan turns to the brothers."I saw a drunk fall over a table, then he was escorted out to the parking lot."
Nikolas nods."That's what I saw as well. I'm Nikolas Cassadine."
Evan shakes his hand. "Evan Scorpio. (Turning to Lucky) You must be Lucky."
Lucky nods and shakes his hand."Scorpio? "
Evan nods. "Mac's son. Long story. I think I should rejoin my date."
Lucky and Nikolas follow him into the club. Lucky: "Drinks are on me, Evan. Nice to meet you."
Nikolas rejoins Katharine."Sorry about that."
Katharine smiles."Take me out of here. I want to thank you for protecting a lady's honor."
Nikolas takes her by the hand."No need to ask me twice."
Lucky and Gina are sitting in the back booth. Gina:"Lucky, take me away from this craziness tonight."
Lucky nods."Where do you want to go?"
Gina takes his hand."I have a room at the Port-Charles Hotel."
Lucky smiles."Okay, let's go. Mike will lock up."
Emily is dancing with Evan."You didn't have to do that."
Evan smiles."He was an ass."
Emily:"I should explain about him."
Evan brushes her hair from her eyes."You owe me no explanations. Things happen. I know that better than anyone."
Laura turns to Stefan"Well, it looks like both the boys will have bruised knuckles now."
Stefan smiles."They had every right to educate the young man."
Lucy gasps, and everyone turns to looks at her. Lucy: "Oh my God."
A handsome man walks toward her table."Hey Luce, miss me?"
Laura and Lucy look up at the man, Laura is surprised and Lucy can only be described as in shock; and in unison they say:"SCOTT?!"
